Guest Speaker Chris Lane, from First Lane Insurance one of our National Sponsors will be sharing practical guidance on landlord insurance, current market trends, and the common issues investors should be aware of. Chris Lane: 40 years experience as an insurance broker.  Started in Wellington working for a large corporate broker for 9 years.  Did a brief stint overseas for a couple of years to London and came back with my family to Sunny Marlborough working for another large corporate as the Branch Manager.  Another 14 or so years working for someone else and saw the light with all the things I was doing wrong, so set up my own business in 2013.  First Lane since grown from just me to 5 staff and many clients all round NZ.  I established a relationship with NZPIF very early on and not long after that formed a JV with Initio to help sponsor NZPIF and local associations.  We service many local businesses and clients in Marlborough but have significant relationships around the country with our rental property business.  Have recently developed a new facility specifically for Social Housing Properties and also for Mortgagee Sales.
